The new coaching set up for the 20/21 season is comprised of Phil Boulton, assisted by Todd Freemantle and Rhidian Booth. Jake Burrows takes on a coaching role with the Colts. Jai Purewal remains as Director of Rugby, with Adam Turner as 1st XV Manager assisted by Rich Allen.

Phil Boulton recently held the position of Head Coach with Newbold RFC, having previously held the same role with Earlsdon RFC. He currently plays tighthead prop for Coventry RFC in the Championship, where he also holds the role of Head Coach for their Under-18s team.

Further key coaching and managerial appointments for the 2020/21 season are:

Todd Freemantle - Player/Backs Coach. Todd is well-known and respected throughout Midlands Rugby, bringing a wealth of playing and coaching experience from his tenures at Rugby Lions, Coventry, Broadstreet and Earlsdon.

Rhidian Booth - Assistant Forwards Coach. Rhidian joined Kenilworth for the 04/05 season and was 1st XV Captain in 05 /06, playing until 07/08. After a few years out, he returned for the 17/18 season and was a big part of our Treble-winning squad in 2018/19.

We are also very pleased to announce that former Kenilworth player, Jake Burrows, will be joining the Colts setup as Backs Coach. A product of our Mini and Juniors section, Jake returns after forging a career in teaching, and he joins the existing Colts coaching team of Ed Hunter, John Brain and Brian Armstrong, with Peter Cox retaining his position as Colts Manager.

Bobby Thompson retains the captaincy.

A significant part of the senior playing restructure over the past few years has focused attention on developing home-grown talent. In the past few seasons, a number of young players have come through to the 1st XV from our Colts and Barbarians with distinction. That said, the club always welcomes new players, and there is a further influx this season.
